Composés de l'antimoine. Oxydes d’antimoine. On en connaît trois. L'anhydride antimonieux Sb2O3 se trouve à l'état naturel(valentinite, sénarmontite) ;il se produit dans la combustion de l'antimoine. [...] Le tétroxyde d’antimoine Sb[ indice ]O4 existe dans la nature sous le nom de cervantite, solide cristallisé qui, par chauffage, donne l'oxyde précédent. L'anhydrique antimonique Sb2O5 est une poudre jaune obtenue par action de l'acide nitrique sur l'antimoine, puis déshydratation des produits obtenus.

oxyde d’antimoine : Ce terme, parce que générique, est imprécis et devrait être évité, sauf si on parle des oxydes d’antimoine comme collectif. Il est préférable d’utiliser l’un des termes spécifiques appropriés, soit le trioxyde de diantimoine, le tétraoxyde de diantimoine ou le pentaoxide de diantimoine.
