Le navire de ligne est le navire de guerre qui fut le fondement de la guerre navale entre les marines européennes, du début du XVIIe siècle au milieu du XXe siècle. Sa principale caractéristique était de combattre principalement avec son artillerie navale, à la différence des navires précédents qui utilisaient l'abordage, voire l'éperonnage.
