Many international and Canadian communities have developed heat alert and response systems (HARS) to adapt to extreme heat and protect human health. De nombreuses collectivités internationales et canadiennes ont mis au point des systèmes d’avertissement et d’intervention en cas de chaleur(SAIC) afin de s’adapter à la chaleur accablante et de protéger la santé humaine. Niveau de protection à adopter en fonction des missions à accomplir. Dès qu'un avertissement ou une alerte sont donnés ou sur ordre des services de renseignements, les troupes doivent adopter le degré de protection qui leur permette d’accomplir les missions qui leur sont confiées dans les meilleurs conditions. Le TOPP(task-oriented protective posture) indique à ce sujet le genre de vêtements protecteurs à porter et le genre de matériel à utiliser pour faire face au danger et pour permettre l'exécution des tâches confiées.
