Health Canada. The mandate of the EAC-VHP is to provide HPFB with on-going external expert broad strategic policy advice on the safety and therapeutic effectiveness of marketed health products for human use. It will also provide a mechanism to involve the public providing them with a forum to have their views heard by experts who can discuss their input and incorporate it into the advice provided. Incorporating the views of citizens and stakeholders is critical for effective regulation in the public interest.

Santé Canada. Le CCE-VPS a pour mandat de fournir, sur une base permanente, à la DGPSA de Santé Canada, des avis généraux d’experts de l'extérieur au sujet des politiques et des stratégies concernant l'innocuité et l'efficacité thérapeutique des produits de santé commercialisés à l'usage des humain. En plus, le Comité constituera un mécanisme permettant aux membres du public de participer à un forum afin de faire connaître leurs points de vue aux experts qui pourront par la suite les examiner et les incorporer dans les avis qu'ils seront appelés à fournir. L'intégration des points de vue des citoyens et des intervenants est essentielle pour assurer une réglementation efficace dans l'intérêt du public.
