On peut envisager la solution suivante : le bassin est asséché et stabilisé, il est recouvert d’une couche de terre ou de stériles, de préférence imperméable, qui réduit les infiltrations, assure une protection contre l'irradiation externe, et limite le dégagement du radon. On ajoute enfin une couche de terre végétale permettant la remise en végétation.
