Carotid endarterectomy (CEA) is surgery to treat carotid artery disease. ... During a carotid endarterectomy, your healthcare provider will surgically remove plaque that builds up inside the carotid artery. He or she will make a cut (incision) on the side of the neck over the affected carotid artery. The artery is opened and the plaque removed. Your healthcare provider will stitch the artery back together. 2, record 1, English, - carotid%20endarterectomy

4, record 1, French, - endart%C3%A9riectomie%20carotidienne

… as more and more home viewing occurs on large-screen high resolution televisions and other display devices, movie theaters have sought to differentiate the movie theater experience from home viewing by offering three-dimensional films. The laparoscopic cholecystectomy involves the insertion of a long narrow cylindrical tube with a camera on the end, through an approximately 1 cm incision in the abdomen, which allows visualization of the internal organs and projection of this image onto a video monitor. Three smaller incisions allow for insertion of other instruments to perform the surgical procedure. A laser may be used for the incision and cautery (burning unwanted tissue to stop bleeding), in which case the procedure may be called laser laparoscopic cholecystectomy. 4, record 15, English, - laparoscopic%20cholecystectomy

1, record 15, French, - chol%C3%A9cystectomie%20par%20laparoscopie

Ileal conduit use of a segment of the ileum for the diversion of urinary flow from the ureters. The segment is resected from the intestine with nerves and blood supply intact. The proximal end of the segment is closed, forming a pouch, and the ends of the ureters are sutured to it. The distal end is brought to the outside of the abdominal wall and effaced to form a stoma. The remaining ends of the small intestine are anastomosed to reestablish bowel continuity, the ileal loop no longer being a part of the intestinal tract. 3, record 35, English, - ileal%20conduit%20urinary%20diversion

5, record 54, French, - immersion

For breast remodeling, the plastic surgeon uses techniques similar to those used in the breast reduction surgery performed for women who experience pain or discomfort due to large breast size. This approach can yield excellent results, particularly if the tumor was located in the lower half of the breast, and is usually preferred if sufficient breast tissue remains after the partial mastectomy. To achieve symmetry, breast remodeling is usually combined with a breast reduction on the opposite side. The two surgeries are performed at the same time. 1, record 62, English, - breast%20remodeling

Princess lace is one type of tape lace made popular in Belgium during [the 19th century) ... Princess lace hardly merits the label "handmade," but would more correctly be considered as "hand-assembled" from a variety of machine-made elements ... Princess lace employs a combination of characteristic plain and fancy machine-made tapes and its design generally relies upon stylized flowers, scrolls, and medallions worked in imitation of traditional Duchesse or Brussels lace designs. 1, record 70, English, - princess%20lace

This information is used to determine the transformation matrix between the robot and the patient. 1, record 89, French, - bistouri%20liquide

Comment devient-on vidéo-chirurgien?

The term was coined by M.G. Anderson in 1919, at which time he noted that fracture of the astragalus was comparatively rare in civilian life but quite common in aviation accidents. The injury occurs as the aircraft strikes the ground at an angle so that the rudder bar, against which the instep of the foot is resting, is driven upward into the foot just in front of the heel.
