The exergonic metabolic processes in living cells by which molecular oxygen is taken in, organic substances are oxidized, free energy is released, and carbon dioxide, water, and other oxidized products are given off by the cell.

CONT

The most efficient way for cells to harvest energy stored in food is through cellular respiration, a catabolic pathway for the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). ATP, a high energy molecule, is expended by working cells. Cellular respiration occurs in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells. There are three main stages of cellular respiration: glycolysis, the citric acid cycle, and electron transport.

The engine case consists of the fan case (which contains the fan and low-pressure compressor), the intermediate case, the high-pressure compressor case, the diffuser and combustion case, the high-pressure turbine case, the low-pressure turbine case, and the turbine exhaust case. These cases comprise the main support structure for the engine, with the internal parts and components being supported by struts and bearings.

Le carénage du moteur comprend, de l’avant vers l’arrière, le carter de la soufflante (qui renferme la soufflante et le compresseur basse pression), le carter intermédiaire, le carter du compresseur haute pression, le carter du diffuseur et de la chambre de combustion, le carter de la turbine haute pression, celui de la turbine basse pression et le carter d’éjection turbine. Ces carters constituent la structure principale de support du moteur, dont les organes et les éléments internes sont portés par des montants et des paliers.

Après ajout de carburant, l'écoulement des gaz de combustion sera une fois de plus inversé, pour se dilater à travers chaque étage de turbine. Après avoir franchi les turbines, les gaz parviennent au carter d’échappement puis sont évacués au moyen d’un orifice d’échappement situé près de l'avant du moteur.
