Record number: 7, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The term "transient" snowline is referred to as the boundary between a snow-covered surface and a bare surface at any given time ... The transient snowline may reside on the ground as well as on the surface of a glacier. It is continuously changing, being near sea level during winter in some locations, or on the highest mountain slopes in the summer. The final height of the transient snowline at the end of the melting season will vary from year to year depending on changes in precipitation and temperatures. The term "climatic" snowline is given to the average elevation of the highest transient snowline on bare ground for a number of years. 1, record 7, English, - climatic%20snowline

In partnership with the Alberta Oilsands Technical Authority (AOSTRA) in 1979 the pressure cycle steam drive system was developed. This process takes advantage of a basal water zone, which underlies the oil sands in this area, to heat the oil sands deposit from below. Once a hot communication path is established between wells, continuous steam injection is begun, with the injection and production rates controlled to alternately pressure up and blow down the reservoir. 1, record 16, English, - pressure%20cycle%20steam%20drive%20system

Heat transfer coefficients are shown as functions of downstream and transverse plate coordinates as determined experimentally for different blowing ratios near one and for levels of free stream turbulence from 1 percent to 17 percent of the free stream velocity. Heat transfer between the plate and the free stream is reduced by the film cooling at higher levels of free stream turbulence. Heat transfer is increased on the plate in the region between the film cooling jets at all levels of blowing ratio for one percent free stream turbulence. This undesirable augmentation of the heat transfer is modeled analytically and related to the axial vortices generated near the film cooling jet inlets. The strength of these vortices and the subsequent heat transfer increases are related to the blowing ration. 1, record 19, English, - film%20cooling

For simple thickening of very dilute stocks up to 12% consistency, multidisc thickeners ... can be used. A fiber mat forms on the face of each sector as it submerges in the vat of stock. After complete submergence, vacuum is applied and more pulp is deposited while filtrate is drawn through the mat. The initial filtrate is relatively cloudy and can be segregated (by the action of the end valve) for dilution uses. The later (clear) filtrate is sufficiently free of fiber to be used for shower water. Following emergence from the vat, the pulp mat is further dewatered and finally removed from the filter media by a knockoff shower. Multidisc thickeners are most commonly used as save all devices, i.e., to recover fine fibers from white water and reuse the water. 1, record 26, English, - multidisc%20thickener

1, record 26, French, - %C3%A9paississeur%20%C3%A0%20disques

Association with Geotextiles and Geomembranes. Except in a few locations where they are in contact with coarse granular materials such as gravel, nets used for drainage are never put in direct contact with soil. Fine soil particles would rapidly penetrate net openings and hamper flow of liquids or gases. In most cases nets used for drainage are in contact with structural elements (concrete, sheet piles, lagging), geotextiles, or geomembranes. Nets, geotextiles and geomembranes can be supplied independently and installed successively.
