La cryodénervation est un traitement par le froid. La procédure consiste à insérer au site de la douleur une sonde où y circule de l'argon dont la température atteint-150[ degrés Celsius]. Cette intervention a recours au froid extrême pour geler et détruire les nerfs qui transmettent la douleur à partir des facettes altérées. Avec ce froid intense, on obtient ainsi une dénervation irréversible de la facette.
