Fifty cases of primary liver cancer were treated by electrochemical therapy (ECT). Tumour size ranged from 3.5 to 21.0 cm. ECT was performed by administration of 6-10 V[volts], 50-100 mA [milliamperes] and an electric quantity of 300-1000C[coulombs].

L'électrochimiothérapie. Un nouveau traitement qui combine la chimiothérapie à des impulsions électriques permet l'ablation des cellules cancéreuses de la peau avec autant d’efficacité que l'opération chirurgicale [...] Le traitement consiste à injecter dans la tumeur un médicament chimiothérapique avant de délivrer dans les tissus cancéreux une série de chocs électriques. Plutôt que de brûler la tumeur, ces impulsions entrouvrent les portes de la peau, ce qui améliore considérablement l'efficacité de la chimiothérapie.
