Back-Street Euthanasia. Assisted suicide and active, voluntary euthanasia are occurring regularly. Because these acts are illegal, they are performed entirely underground. Some patients are lucky; they are able to obtain the assistance of a physician and the act is done properly. However, many cases involve painful, botched deaths that result in terrible suffering for both the patient and the survivors. 3, record 1, English, - back%2Dstreet%20euthanasia

Why would people want to read a book on CD-ROM ? ... My answer is, "I don't know -- I prefer books, myself." So why did I do a CD-ROM? Two reasons: The first is exploratory, the second pedagogic. The first reason is that I feel a strong obligation to try to produce, use, and reflect upon all new technologies. ... But the second reason is more interesting. There are many things one can do with a CD-ROM book that are impossible with a regular book. For example, little demos, video asides, and active interaction. 3, record 6, English, - CD%2DROM%20book

A CD book is a computerized version of a paper book. It has a cover, you open it, turn the pages, go back and forward and at the end has a back cover. Unlike a regular book though, it can contain links. A link lets you jump right to the topic page that you are looking for, such as a chapter page or subject page. This type of book can also play music or other sounds while you read. A neat feature is that a CD book can also contain videos, something a paper book could never do. If you find an interesting topic or page, you can also send this subject to your printer and have a hard copy for reference (like having an instant copy machine). 2, record 6, English, - CD%2DROM%20book

PARKS CANADA. An historically inhabited place is an entity which was inhabited in the past but is no longer inhabited. As its name does not appear in the relevant provincial or territorial Gazetteer, the only evidence of its existence comes from history books or archival documents. This is the case of, among others, "Port-la-Joye" (P.E.I.), "Lower Fort Garry" (Man.), "Fish Creek" (Sask.), "Ninstints" (B.C.) and "Dawson City" (Y.T.), names of historically inhabited places used in Parks Canada toponyms. 1, record 10, English, - historically%20inhabited%20place

Sometimes, a distinction must be made between the historical designation and the present designation of a given toponym. For example, history texts confirm the existence in present-day Nova Scotia of "Port-Royal" (an historically inhabited place), where Champlain built the Habitation in 1605. The Gazetteer for the province indicates the existence, near the historical site, of the rural community now incorporated under the name "Port Royal" (currently gazetteered inhabited place); the same comment applies to the historical "Grand-Pré" and the currently inhabited "Grand Pré". Similarly, "Castle Hill" and "Signal Hill" (Nfld.) are entities that were once inhabited and were located on the geographical entities having the same names that are currently gazetteered and have a different form in FR: "Castle Hill (Nfld.) -- colline Castle (T.-N.)" and "Signal Hill (Nfld.) -- colline Signal (T.-N.)". 1, record 10, English, - historically%20inhabited%20place

». 1, record 10, French, - lieu%20historiquement%20habit%C3%A9
