2, record 6, French, - carottier%20manuel

Pollution Prevention Opportunity Evaluation. Waste-generating Process: Metal Finishing - Surface Preparation. Opportunity: Reduce Rinsewater Use; Use of Rinsewater as Chemical Solution Make-up. ... The use water for rinsing can be reduced by several methods: ... A still rinse tank, also known as "dead rinse," "stagnant rinse," and "recovery rinse," can be used ahead of flowing rinses to concentrate the drag out in one tank and to reduce the amount of chemicals discharged to the sewer. The dead rinsewater can be used as make-up chemical solution. 2, record 27, English, - stagnant%20rinse

Installing an electrowinning unit on a stagnant rinse tank after a dragout recovery tank is the most common and costeffective application of electrowinning. To maintain a steady-state metal concentration in the stagnant rinse at or below the maximum contaminant concentration, the rate of metal deposition onto the electrowinning cathodes must be greater than or equal to the rate of dragin from the preceding tank. Thus, the metal deposition rate is an essential design parameter that ultimately affects the capacity, size and cost of the electrowinning unit. ... Because metal and cyanide concentration in the stagnant rinse are lowered, subsequent rinses will be cleaner, allowing the flow rates in these rinses to be reduced or turned off. In many cases, rinse water flow is reduced to a rate equal to the evaporation rate from the stagnant rinse. 3, record 27, English, - stagnant%20rinse

The Pesticide Risk Reduction Program highlights priorities for pest management, including biological controls, natural products, and low-risk minor use pesticides. This program reflects the goals of the APF (Agricultural Policy Framework) - to position Canada as the world leader in environmentally responsible production while improving air, water, and soil quality, and conserving biodiversity. The Pesticide Risk Reduction Program will help reduce the risks to the environment from pesticides uses in agriculture, contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment, and result in safer food for consumers by focussing on: developing and implementing strategies to reduce pesticide risks: conducting research into improving methods for pest control; developing alternative approaches to pest management, such as integrated pest management, biological control methods, and bio-pesticides; and increasing the adoption of reduced-risk technologies by producers. 1, record 38, English, - Pesticide%20Risk%20Reduction%20Program

Subirrigation (seepage) systems are based on establishment and maintenance of the high water table just beneath the crop root zone. Due to the capillary action the water migrates upward providing necessary moisture for the crop. For this system to function, the top layer of soil must have high hydraulic conductivity typical for sand or muck. The existence of natural high water table or restrictive layer (clay, rock, etc.) below the root zone is necessary to allow for the buildup and regulation of the irrigation water table throughout the season. Raising the water table in addition to providing for the evapotranspirational demand of the crop, requires large quantities of water which must also be available for seepage irrigation. 6, record 51, English, - subsurface%20irrigation

2, record 72, French, - matelas%20drainant%20granulaire
