The increasing concentration of 1,2-DCP detected in Village production wells concerned SWDO's Division of Drinking and Ground Water (DDAGW). In the summer of 1997, DDAGW requested that Ripley take action to reduce the concentration of 1,2-DCP to below 5.0 µg/l. Failure to do so would lead to requirements for costly treatment.
