The UNESCO Associated Schools Project (ASP) is a network of schools throughout the world committed to the ideals of UNESCO. Launched in 1953, the ASP promotes education for international understanding in order to prepare children and young people to meet the pressing challenges facing humanity within the context of the planet's resources. Le Système des Écoles Associées de l'UNESCO(SEA), lancé en 1953, est un réseau d’écoles créé pour renforcer l'engagement des enfants et des jeunes dans la promotion de la compréhension internationale et de la paix. Aujourd’hui, 6305 écoles dans 164 pays appartiennent actuellement à ce réseau qui s’accroît continuellement. Une des raisons de son développement quantitatif et qualitatif considérable réside dans le fait qu'il y a souvent un écart entre ce qui est enseigné à l'école et ce qui se passe dans le monde.
