Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
This system is most commonly found at the wheels hubs, replacing axle nuts for fastening the front or back wheels to the front or rear dropouts and allowing rapid removal and replacement of the wheel in case of a flat tire without the need for tools, by turning the lever through 180°. The system is also found at the top of the seat tube for clamping the seatpost into the seat tube and allowing the rider to raise and lower the seat while mounted. The levered quick release system may also be present at the front and rear brakes, this time as an adjustment lever that causes the caliper arms to spread, thereby allowing the wheel to be removed without deflating the tires. 2, record 2, English, - quick%2Drelease%20lever

5, record 2, French, - levier%20de%20blocage%20rapide

In practice, a combination framework is probably the most useful type of framework for urban sustainability indicators. The advantage of a combination framework is that it can consolidate the advantages of several individual frameworks while simultaneously overcoming some of their weaknesses. CMHC has developed a combination domain-based/sectoral framework known as the Community Oriented Model of the Lived Environment (COMLE). In this framework, indicators are organized under areas of municipal government responsibility, such as housing and transportation and are linked to sustainability goals of environmental integrity, economic vitality and social well-being. 1, record 8, English, - Community%20Oriented%20Model%20of%20the%20Lived%20Environment

1, record 8, French, - Mod%C3%A8le%20d%27orientation%20communautaire%20de%20l%27environnement%20habit%C3%A9

Pit sawing operations have a long and vibrant history. Well before circular saws were used to saw logs lengthwise, they were processed by placing them over a "pit" - hence the reference to "pit saw." The saw operates vertically up and down. Operated by two men, a man on top, known as the "Top Dog", guided the saw as it was pulled down in a cutting motion by the "Underdog". The "Top dog" recovered the saw and the "Underdog" then pulled it down in a cutting motion again. Needless to say the "Underdog" copped a fair bit of sawdust. The top of the saw has a fixed "tiller handle" so the topdog can guide it and cut a straight line. The lower part of the saw has a "block" which is easily detachable with a wedge. (...) F.J. Vine and D.H. Matthews of the University of Cambridge proposed a convincing test of the hypothesis advanced by Hess. It was based on the discovery (...) that the earth's magnetic field had reversed direction a number of times in past ages. They reasoned that if molten rock were pushed up along the axis of the mid-ocean ridge, it would become magnetized in the direction of the earth's prevailing magnetic field as it cooled. If the newly cooled material was subsequently pushed out away from the ridge, it would form strips of alternately "normal" and "reversed" magnetism, depending on the polarity of the earth's magnetic field when the rock solidified. 2, record 40, English, - Vine%20and%20Matthews%27%20hypothesis

1, record 40, French, - hypoth%C3%A8se%20de%20Vine%20et%20Matthews
