eclipse lunar; eclipse de Luna: La Fundación del Español Urgente (Fundéu BBVA), con el asesoramiento de la Real Academia Española, indica que según la Ortografía de la lengua española, las voces "sol", "luna" y "tierra" se escriben con mayúscula inicial en contextos astronómicos, cuando se utilizan como los nombres propios de la estrella, el satélite y el planeta, respectivamente. Así pues, a la hora de emplear estas palabras en construcciones como "eclipse de Sol" o "eclipse de Luna", que se refieren a un fenómeno astronómico, lo recomendable es escribir con mayúscula "Sol" y "Luna". Sin embargo, lo indicado es la minúscula cuando se usan los adjetivos que indican el tipo: "eclipse solar", "eclipse lunar", "eclipse total" [...]

An eclipse season is one of only two periods during each year when the Sun, the Moon and Earth are aligned, allowing eclipses to occur. Each season lasts about 35 days and repeats just short of six months later!

Pour qu'une éclipse soit possible, la nouvelle lune ou la pleine lune doit avoir lieu lorsque la Lune se trouve près d’un des deux endroits, appelés «nœuds», où son orbite croise celle de la Terre. La ligne des nœuds de l'orbite lunaire pointe alors approximativement en direction du Soleil. Ces périodes favorables surviennent deux fois par année pendant quelques semaines : ce sont les saisons d’éclipses, qui se décalent d’environ 19 jours d’une année à l'autre.

During a total lunar eclipse, the Sun, Earth and Moon form a straight line. The Earth blocks any direct sunlight from reaching the Moon. The Sun is behind the Earth, so the Sun's light casts the Earth's shadow on the Moon. This shadow covers the entire Moon and causes a total lunar eclipse.

Solar eclipses occur when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, causing the Moon to cast a shadow on a portion of the Earth's surface. ... during a total solar eclipse, the Moon aligns perfectly with the Sun and covers the entire solar disk, resulting in a momentary darkening of the sky. As a result, the corona becomes visible as a halo of glowing plasma encircling the Moon.

Au moment d’une éclipse de Soleil, si la Lune est plus proche de la Terre(Lune plus grosse) ou que le Soleil est plus éloigné(Soleil plus petit), le cône d’ombre lunaire atteint la surface de la Terre. The Earth's shadow cast on the Moon is predictably much larger than that of the Moon on the Earth. As a result the umbra may cover the entire lunar disc at the same time. Similarly, the entire Moon can be inside the penumbra without entering the umbra.
