Les chercheurs ont remarqué un dysfonctionnement des canaux potassium exclusif aux individus atteints d’ÉT. Chez le patient atteint d’ÉT, ces canaux potassium sont beaucoup moins nombreux au niveau des synapses des neurones de l’hippocampe qu’ils ne le sont en cas normal.
