3, record 6, French, - follicule%20de%20De%20Graaf

Stem elongation or jointing occurs as a result of internode elongation. Usually a plant has about five to six leaves on the main shoot when internode elongation first begins. Throughout development, the lower four nodes remain in the crown. The fifth node may remain in the crown or be elevated slightly and nodes six and seven are generally elevated above the soil. The elongating internode is hollow between the crown and the elevated growing point, except in solid stem varieties. Rapid stem or internode elongation brings the developing head above the soil surface. Each elongating internode becomes progressively longer and eventually leads to head emergence. 4, record 40, English, - shooting%20stage

The actual method used in initial crossing of wheat varieties is conditioned by the fact that wheat is bi-sexual and normally self-pollinating. Before the wheat plant has shed its pollen, the anthers are removed with forceps from the flowers of the plant that is to become the female parent, and a cover is slipped over the emasculated wheat head to exclude foreign pollen. Two or three days later, the cover is taken off and ripe anthers are removed from another wheat plant, selected as the male parent, broken over the stigma of each emasculated flower, and the cover replaced. The fertilized egg cells now develop into grains which usually mature a little more than a month later. 2, record 41, English, - self%2Dpollinating

1, record 41, French, - autof%C3%A9cond%C3%A9e

The commonest way in which plants avoid self-fertilisation is by self-incompatibility, a physiological barrier making it difficult or impossible for a flower to fertilise itself eventhough it may be abundantly pollinated with its own pollen. Self-incompatibility involves the ability of a plant to discriminate between its own pollen grains and those of another plant and only allow pollen from a different plant to grow and fertilise the ovules. 2, record 63, English, - self%2Dincompatibility

Microsurgical Retrieval of Epididymal Sperm. In the past decade, the techniques of epididymal sperm retrieval and micromanipulation to assist fertilization have been two of the most exciting developments in the field of male infertility treatment. [...] We have found that microsurgical epididymal sperm aspiration (MESA) using a glass micropipet technique simultaneous to intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) appears to maximize opportunities of pregnancy for infertile couples with unreconstructable male reproductive tract obstruction. MESA from individual epididymal tubules with a micropuncture technique allows retrieval of high numbers of sperm with optimal quality for immediate use during ICSI as well as for cryopreservation. 1, record 75, English, - microsurgical%20epididymal%20sperm%20aspiration
