Thermostat. Le réglage de la température ou réglage thermostatique est le contrôle et le maintien à une température donnée soit d’un corps de chauffe(fer à repasser, foyer de cuisson), soit de ce que l'on veut chauffer(eau, air, aliments, récipients). Ce maintien se fait à l'aide de «thermostats», dont le principe repose sur la dilatation et la contraction d’un métal, d’un liquide ou d’un gaz, lors des variations de température.
