The concept of a hormonal male contraceptive is very similar to female hormonal contraceptives, with the administered sex steroid(s) causing suppression of GnRH [gonadotropin-releasing hormone] and LH [luteinizing hormone]/FSH [follicle stimulating hormone] secretion from the hypothalamus and pituitary respectively, and thus gonadal quiescence ... 3, record 1, English, - hormonal%20male%20contraceptive

Most prostate cancer cells depend on hormones to grow. Hormones such as gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) or luteinizing hormone releasing hormone (LHRH) are released from the hypothalamus gland in the brain. When these hormones are released, they promote the testicles to produce the male hormone, testosterone. Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT) deprives prostate cancer cells of the male hormones (known as androgens) that cancer cells require in order to grow. ADT is the most common therapy used in men with advanced prostate cancer. 3, record 4, English, - androgen%20deprivation%20therapy

3, record 4, French, - traitement%20antiandrog%C3%A9nique

Definition of Controlled Release. A system that: delivers an agent at a controlled rate for an extended time; might localize drug action by spatial placement near where it is needed; might target drug action by using techniques to deliver drug to a particular cell type. 4, record 5, English, - controlled%20drug%20delivery%20system

Controlled drug delivery occurs when a polymer, whether natural or synthetic, is judiciously combined with a drug or other active agent in such a way that the active agent is released from the material in a predesigned manner. The release of the active agent may be constant over a long period, it may be cyclic over a long period, or it may be triggered by the environment or other external events. In any case, the purpose behind controlling the drug delivery is to achieve more effective therapies while eliminating the potential for both under- and overdosing. 5, record 5, English, - controlled%20drug%20delivery%20system

5, record 5, French, - syst%C3%A8me%20de%20lib%C3%A9ration%20contr%C3%B4l%C3%A9e%20de%20m%C3%A9dicaments
