In the monolithic type pebble bed reactor, the dimension of the reactor core diameter becomes large, and nuclear control for a large-sized reactor having a large output scale is insufficient in a cooled state using only control elements (control rod, boron sphere) inserted into the reflector region. Furthermore, a reactor core control rod, which is forcibly inserted directly into the reactor core, is required in addition to the control elements inserted into the reflector region by gravity drop only. Moreover, cases have been reported that fuel spheres are broken if the control rod is inserted forcibly into the core because the pebble reactor core is full of fuel spheres accumulated inside the reactor core, which causes a serious drawback. 1, record 1, English, - pebble%20bed%20reactor%20core

1, record 1, French, - c%26oelig%3Bur%20%C3%A0%20boulets

Several different reactor architectures can be constructed depending on the location of the catalytic site in the composition. In one case the catalytic function can be located within the zeolite layer, while in another case the catalytic function can be located within the support, and in another case the catalytic function can be distributed throughout the support, gel layer or seed layer and the zeolite layer. 1, record 2, English, - reactor%20architecture

1, record 3, French, - combustible%20%C3%A0%20particules

A single TRISO particle consists of an inner kernel of Uranium xycarbide surrounded by layers of pyrolytic carbon and silicon carbide. The silicon carbide serves as the primary barrier to the release of fission products into the core. If the silicon carbide layer fails, fission gas, especially Kr and Xe, will begin to escape the failed particle. 1, record 5, English, - TRISO%20particle
