La sensación térmica en verano. También en verano podemos experimentar más o menos calor a una misma temperatura, en este caso debido a la combinación de temperatura y humedad relativa. En días calurosos, una humedad relativa alta aumenta la sensación de calor, ya que la evaporación del sudor, que es el principal medio para disminuir el calor corporal, se ve dificultada por el exceso de humedad presente en el aire. Por ejemplo, en un día con una temperatura de 30 ºC y humedad relativa de 50 %, la sensación térmica es de 36 ºC.

humidex: no confundir con "índice de humedad", que hace referencia al índice que refleja la disponibilidad hídrica del clima.

Indice température-humidité. D'origine américaine, l'indice température-humidité est similaire à l'humidex canadien. C'est l'équivalent estival du facteur éolien en hiver. De même que le vent accentue la perception(et l'impact physiologique) du froid, l'humidité accentue la perception et l'impact de la chaleur. Chacun sait qu'un temps chaud et humide est beaucoup plus pénible qu'un temps chaud et sec!

An index which expresses the combined effects of temperature and humidity on bodily comfort and which can be used to indicate, by reference to a table, graph or nomogram, whether the conditions specified are broadly speaking comfortable or not.

The comfort index provides an indication of the body's reaction to heat, cold, humidity and wind chill. High temperatures and humidity stress the body's ability to cool itself, and low temperatures can stress the body's ability to heat itself. It is not an absolute measure as everybody's reaction to heat and cold is different.
