The Big Shot Challenge is a City of Ottawa campaign to increase staff influenza immunization rates for all acute and long-term health and residential care facilities, health care (staffing) agencies, training programs providing students for health facilities and emergency services. The goal is to immunize at least 95% of residents and 80% of full/part-time employees in long-term care facilities (home for the aged, nursing homes, chronic care facilities/units and retirement homes). Le Défi Échec à la grippe est une campagne de la Ville d’Ottawa visant à accroître le taux d’immunisation contre la grippe du personnel qui travaille dans tous les établissements de soins actifs et de soins de longue durée, établissements de soins aux bénéficiaires internes, organismes de dotation en santé, et programmes de formation affectant des étudiants à des établissements de soins de santé, des services d’urgence et diverses associations. L'objectif consiste à immuniser au moins 90 pour cent des résidents et 80 pour cent des employés d’établissements de soins de longue durée(foyers pour personnes âgées, maison de soins infirmiers, établissements et unités de soins pour malades chroniques et maisons de retraite.
