2, record 1, French, - bicouche%20lipidique

Membrane distillation (MD) is a thermally-driven separation process, in which only vapour molecules transfer through a microporous hydrophobic membrane. The driving force in the MD process is the vapour pressure difference induced by the temperature difference across the hydrophobic membrane. This process has various applications, such as desalination, wastewater treatment and in the food industry. 3, record 2, English, - membrane%20distillation

3, record 2, French, - distillation%20membranaire

A built-up roofing consists of plies or layers of roofing felt bonded together on site with hot bitumen. A protective surface coating of gravel or slag is sometimes embedded in a heavy top coating of hot bitumen. It is laid down to conform to the roof deck, and to protect all angles formed by the roof deck with projecting surfaces, and forms a single-unit flexible waterproofed membrane fastened to the deck by cementing and nailing. The simple principle on flat roofs is to turn the membrane up to form a skirting or base flashing on the vertical surfaces, making a large watertight tray. The only outlets from this tray are the roof drains to dispose of water. 3, record 11, English, - build%2Dup%20roofing

4, record 62, French, - drain%20de%20fondation
Record number: 62, Textual support number: 2 CONT
5, record 62, French, - drain%20de%20fondation

In certain circumstances it may be desirable to shape the ground to allow surface water to collect in a water storage pond on site. This concept of retaining surface water run-off by reducing the peak water impact on the storm sewer capacity and by providing an attractive site feature, may be economical on large sites. It may also be possible to use a less expensive underground sewer system with fewer or smaller diameter pipes because the peak water impact will be collected by the retention pond instead of the sewer system. 2, record 63, English, - retention%20pond

Record number: 68, Textual support number: 1 CONT

2, record 77, French, - reverdissement

A "geovalve" is a rather unusual geotextile-soil composite which has been conceived and tested in laboratory. The basic function of a geovalve composite is to act as an impermeable layer, preventing liquid escaping from containment ponds. The novel aspect of the geovalve is that, when high water or gas pressures build up in the underlying soil, it acts as a one-way valve, allowing these high gas or water pressures to discharge through the containment pond, thereby avoiding potential damage. 1, record 91, English, - geovalve

Géotextiles(...) Rôle hydraulique(...) Clapet. 2, record 91, French, - clapet%20g%C3%A9otextile

This composite fabric provides thermal insulation while keeping water out and letting perspiration pass through. A water-impermeable insulating material is sandwiched between two layers of a wicking fabric, which are connected to each other by wicking threads that pass through the insulating material. The outer wicking layer may also be covered by material that is water-impermeable but water-vapour-permeable. The major application for this fabric is boots and clothing intended for use in cold and wet conditions. 1, record 92, English, - wicking%20thread

The retention and permeability requirements of a geotextile can be specified in terms of AOS [Apparent Opening Size] and permittivity values. These criteria are fully adequate in a majority of drainage applications where the filter's clogging potential is very low or in noncritical drainage applications. When the potential for filter clogging is significant or the drainage application should be classified as critical, the clogging resistance of filter fabrics should be evaluated to assure adequate long-term filter performance. 1, record 94, English, - clogging%20resistance

Generally, two types of mineral clogging can be detected which are referred to as primary and secondary clogging. Primary clogging is a consequence of the sudden drastic changes in the soil/water boundary conditions, caused by the installation of the subsurface drainage system, and the resulting water flow, including particle transport due to the high hydraulic gradients, towards the newly installed pipe. Secondary clogging is defined as a particle transport into filters and/or pipes, in the long term; ... 1, record 95, English, - mineral%20clogging
