The functions of the International Grains Council (IGC) are to oversee the implementation of the Grains Trade Convention (GTC); to discuss current and prospective world grain market developments; and to monitor changes in national grain policies and their market implications. The importance of Canada's grain industry to the country's economic health and the world grain supply situation should not be underestimated.
