A treatment involving the injection of a sclerosing solution into vessels or tissues. 2, record 1, English, - sclerotherapy
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Sclerotherapy effectively treats varicose and spider veins. It's often considered the treatment of choice for small varicose veins. Sclerotherapy involves injecting a solution directly into the vein. The sclerotherapy solution causes the vein to scar, forcing blood to reroute through healthier veins. The collapsed vein is reabsorbed into local tissue and eventually fades. 3, record 1, English, - sclerotherapy

1, record 1, French, - scl%C3%A9roth%C3%A9rapie

Zinc metalloendoproteases are widely involved in the intracellular processing and degradation of proteins. Vallee and Auld showed that these enzymes isolated from bacteria of Bacillus species share the consensus amino acid sequence, HEXXH, in their active sites and that the two histidine residues in the sequence ligate the catalytic zinc ion (1, 2). According to the sequence homology, Jiang and Bond grouped known 40 amino acid sequences of zinc endoproteases into five distinct subfamilies (astacin, serratia, matrixin, snake venom, and thermolysin). 1, record 7, English, - matrixin

Introduction Tenascin is a large hexameric extracellular matrix molecule with oncofetal properties. During embryonic development the protein is expressed in many parenchymatous organs, where it appears to have a regulating role in epithelial differentiation. In most mature tissues the expression is restricted to the papillary dermis, but reappears in tissue regeneration and repair and in neoplasia. In basal cell carcinoma two forms (Mr 210,000 and 300,000 kDa) of tenascin can be found, in contrast to normal skin and fibroblasts, where one form predominantly exists (Mr 300,000 kDa). 1, record 12, English, - tenascin

Oncogene abnormalities and the microenvironment of the cells, including the extracellular matrix and hormonal milieu, are now understood to be critical determinants of tumorigenesis and metastasis. The molecules we are targeting that participate in tumorigenesis include estrogen, the HER-2/neu tyrosine kinase, and the extracellular matrix protein fibulin-1, thought to function during embryogenesis in the conversion of epithelial cells to migratory mesenchymal cells. 1, record 15, English, - fibulin

Retinoic acid promotes the neuronal survival properties of the class 1 heparin-binging growth factor (HBGF-1) on 8-day-old chick ciliary and sensory neurones. It has little or no effect on the survival promoting properties of class 2 heparin-binding growth factor (HBGF-2) on these cell types. Nerve growth factor (NGF) promoted survival of sympathetic and sensory neurones, and was unaffected at any concentration of retinoic acid. 2, record 19, English, - heparin%2Dbinding%20growth%20factor

2, record 19, French, - facteur%20HBGF
