SRA Communications showed this electronic display with optical magnification (EDOM) system in mock-up form at the Military Electronics Defence Expo late last year in Wiesbaden. It is intended to provide a head-down display of a range of different information and sensor pictures in the limited space of a military cockpit, using a high-brightness, 1-inch cathode ray tube with a lens to provide the pilot with a virtual image at a distance of between one and two metres from his eyes.
