The context of the adoption of agricultural robotics is a long history of innovation by farmers, blacksmiths, engineers and scientists with the goal of producing more food with less human effort ... In most cases, this innovation historically was driven by two forces: (1) the earth's resources are fixed, but the growing human population required more food and (2) developments in other human activities provided ideas and innovations that could be adapted for agricultural use. 2, record 1, English, - agricultural%20robotics

This simple experiment with a mirror illustrates one aspect of visual awareness. It relies on a phenomenon called binocular rivalry, which occurs when each eye has a different input from the same part of the visual field. Motion in the field of one eye can cause either the entire image or parts of the image to be erased. The movement captures the brain's attention. 1, record 9, English, - Cheshire%20Cat%20Experiment

Record number: 17, Textual support number: 1 CONT

Brief flashes of colored light enable researchers to infer the minimum time required for visual awareness. A disk of red light is projected for 20 milliseconds, followed immediately by a 20- millisecond flash of green light. But the observer reports seeing a single flash of yellow, the color that would be apparent if red and green were projected simultaneously. The subject does not become aware of red followed by green until the length of the flashes is extended to 60 to 70 milliseconds. 1, record 30, English, - visual%20awareness

1, record 30, French, - perception%20visuelle%20consciente

Fractal Image Compression is about the mathematical ideas that lie behind the photographs and other pictures on Encarta. They are all fractals! They are stored as highly compressed data files produced using fractal image compression. Fractal image compression involves three basic mathematical modeling problems. The required models are [:] a mathematical model for real world image, a model for approximating model images by means of resolution independent image approximants, which must be described by finite data strings, and a computationally tractable model for the sources of the data strings, to enable the application of information theory to provide efficient representation of the image approximants. 2, record 31, English, - fractal%20image%20compression

1, record 33, French, - pellitact
