2, record 21, French, - cr%C3%A9ation%20litt%C3%A9raire

The United Way - Centraide Movement had its roots in Canada in early part of the 20th century. At that time, Catholic, Protestant and Jewish charities began to raise funds to strengthen their communities. Over the years, the United Way - Centraide was known as the Red Feather, the Community Chest, and the United Appeal. In the 1970s, these organizations adopted the name of United Way and Centraide. United Way of Canada - Centraide Canada (UWC-CC) is a national organization created in 1939 and supported by 126 member United Ways and Centraides (UWs-Cs) in Canada. It acts as a voice for the members within the Canadian voluntary sector and international level. Each UW-C is an autonomous organization operated by a voluntary Board of Directors chosen from the community it serves. 1, record 25, English, - United%20Way%20of%20Canada

2, record 26, French, - proustmaniaque

In the early days, baseball was an amateur game. But it was so popular and winning became so important, that clubs (the administration) began to offer players money or jobs to join them. The first professional team (meaning the administration) paying all its players openly was the Cincinnati Red Stockings, in 1869. [In both cases, the term "club" should have been used.] In 1876, the National League was formed with eight teams. The American League, also with eight teams, claimed major league status in 1901. 3, record 34, English, - club

1, record 34, French, - club
Record number: 34, Textual support number: 1 OBS
1, record 34, French, - club

Nanolithography is the art and science of etching, writing, or printing at the microscopic level, where the dimensions of characters are on the order of nanometres. This includes various methods of modifying semiconductor chips at the atomic level for the purpose of fabricating integrated circuits (ICs). Instruments used in nanolithography include the scanning tunnelling microscope (STM) and the atomic force microscope (AFM). Both allow surface viewing in fine detail without necessarily modifying it. Either the STM or the AFM can be used to etch, write, or print on a surface in single-atom dimensions. 4, record 37, English, - nanolithography

The original garage wine is called Le Pin, and its grapes grow on a tiny, five acre plot in Pomerol, which is near St. Emilion in Bordeaux, France. The first vintage, from 1981, was so astonishingly good that other winemakers soon followed suit to create their own boutique wines (as small wine batches were originally called). Since most of these operations were housed in relatively modest accommodations the Le Pin wine cellar is in the basement of a beat up old farmhouse the French writer Nicholas Baby came up with the name vins de garage and called the vintners garagistes ... 1, record 46, English, - garage%20wine

Float-type gauges are essentially water level gauges. A float in the gauge receptacle rises as rain water enters the chamber, the rise of the float being recorded by a pen on a suitably calibrated, clock-driven chart. Some float gauges can only record to the capacity of the chamber, but others are equipped with siphoning arrangements to let out the water when the chamber fills and to return the pen to the zero position on the chart. The most serious difficulty with such gauges is in their operation at temperatures below freezing. 4, record 49, English, - float%2Dtype%20gauge

Hydrolyzed feather meal. Description. The process involves preparation of poultry feed as animal ... protein supplement from poultry feathers, which form the solid wastes in the poultry dressing units and are thrown out creating disposal problems. Although the feathers contain about 80% protein, they are not easily digestable in raw stage due to the presence of disulfide linkage. The process involves rehydration of the feathers followed by thermal hydrolysis and subsequent drying as well as powdering. The uniqueness of the process lies in hydrolysing this rich proteinous source, which is otherwise wasted adding to pollution problem to prepare a protein supplement for poultry feed, thereby creating wealth out of waste. 1, record 61, English, - hydrolyzed%20feather%20meal

A plume is a local fluctuation in the fluid temperature ... which detaches itself at more or less regular intervals from the boundaries responsible for the temperature gradient in the fluid. Plumes exist mainly in high Prandtl number fluids, for the following reason. For a fluid to have a high Prandtl number means that its kinematic viscosity is much greater than its thermal diffusivity. The effectiveness of thermal diffusion is therefore low, permitting high gradients of temperature and also of density to exist for a long time before relaxing. This causes large fluctuations in the Archimedean force which drives the plumes. 3, record 93, English, - plume

Vertical freehand lettering is the standard for mechanical drafting. ... Although standard, not all companies require freehand lettering. Some companies allow drafters the flexibility of freehand lettering or using a template.
