Les tumeurs neuronales sont rares chez l'enfant; elles constituent un groupe pas toujours bien défini par rapport aux PNET [tumeurs neuroectodermiques primitives] ou aux DNET [dysembryoplasty neuroepithalial tumor ou «tumeur de l'épilepsie»]; elles dérivent de la cellule neuronale et incluent le neurocytome, le gangliogliome, le gangliocytome, le médulloépithéliome. Ce sont des tumeurs denses, bien limitées, souvent kystiques et calcifiées, habituellement nettement rehaussées. Elles affectent l'adolescent et le jeune adulte.
