Let me summarize by saying the entire plan involves a fluorinated polymer base with ... a piezo-electric layer of coating [under] your skis. In other words, a tiny battery is used to apply an electric field that changes the coefficient of friction with regard to ice and water, meaning ... it makes your skis more slippery. A miniature computer chip senses the temperature and humidity in the snow as you ski, and continually adjusts the electric field to give you the best glide possible. 2, record 10, English, - chlorinated%20lubrication
Record number: 10, Textual support number: 2 OBS
NOTwax, unlike other fluorocarbons, is totally inert and won't stick to anything. So how does it stay on ski and snowboard bases? Extruded and sintered bases are essentially solid. They have no porosity except at a molecular level, but will absorb small amounts of certain liquids (such as solvents). Sintered bases are more amorphous (less crystalline) and have more ability to absorb than extruded bases. Ordinary waxes and base preparations rely on surface bonding and can't soak in more than a few microns. But NOTwax has such low viscosity and low surface tension that it will penetrate deeply into sintered bases. It stays there by capillary attraction (like water in a sponge) until the base contacts snow (or another solid surface). The wicking action of snow against the base is stronger than the capillary attraction of the base to lubricate the surface. The result is that you feel like you are riding on ball bearings. 3, record 10, English, - chlorinated%20lubrication

3, record 10, French, - lubrification%20chlor%C3%A9e

Glucomannan is high in fiber, essential for cleaning the digestive system. [It] is taken from the Konnyaku root and is from the same family as the yam, which is 100 percent natural dietary fiber without calories. Since lack of fiber is a major cause for the high incidence of growing gastrointestinal disorders, it is a valuable herb. It helps reduce cholesterol, helps maintain regularity and promotes bowel health. It helps to normalize blood sugar, to relieve stress on the pancreas and to discourage blood sugar abnormalities, such as hypoglycemia. [It] absorbs toxic substances produced during digestion and elimination. It binds toxic material and eliminates them before they can be absorbed into the blood stream. [It] acts as a prevention of chronic disease and a weight control agent. As a diet aid, it expands to about 50 times its original volume when used with a large glass of water. 3, record 14, English, - glucomannan

An exemple is the sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)-sedimentation test developed in the United Kingdom to select for gluten strength in common wheat. The SDS test quickly became established as an early generation selection test in both the Canadian and American durum wheat breeding programs. The SDS test was embraced by the American pasta industry as a durum wheat purchasing specification to guarantee strong gluten because it was rapid and gave a quantificable result. Therefore, although the SDS test was a great asset in selecting strong gluten durum wheat lines early durum wheat breeding programs, it impeded the marketing of commercial durum wheat parcels that did not meet industry SDS standards. 1, record 16, English, - sodium%20dodecyl%20sulfate%20sedimentation%20test
