Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) delivers precisely targeted high doses of radiation to tumours in difficult or hard-to-reach areas in fewer sessions [than standard external radiation therapy.] It creates many beams of radiation from different angles that meet at the tumour. The tumour itself receives a high dose of radiation, while the individual beams that travel through surrounding tissue are a low dose. This lowers the effects of radiation on healthy tissue surrounding the tumour. 1, record 15, English, - stereotactic%20body%20radiation%20therapy

Because a magnetic field exerts a force on a charged particle, this solar field wave "breaks" over the comet, pulling on the ionized gas of the coma. It sweeps away the electrons, which are much lighter, and draws the heavier ions outward, into a long plasma tail (also called an ion tail) that points in the anti-sunward direction. 3, record 35, English, - anti%2Dsunward%20direction

5, record 35, French, - direction%20anti%2Dsolaire

Diffuse solar irradiance is a measure of the rate of incoming solar energy on a horizontal plane at the Earth's surface resulting from scattering of the Sun's beam due to atmospheric constituents. Diffuse solar irradiance is measured by a pyranometer, with its glass dome shaded from the Sun's beam. The shading is accomplished either by an occulting disc or a shading arm attached to a solar tracker. The angle subtended by the shading disc of the diffuse pyranometer should be the same as the field of view of the pyrheliometer. It is important that the dome of the pyranometer is always fully shaded from the Sun's beam to ensure accuracy of measurement, and should be checked for correct alignment on a regular basis. 4, record 43, English, - pyranometer

2, record 55, French, - rayonnement%20ionisant

The word radiation is commonly used in several distinct although related senses. - First, it is a term for the process by which energy is transferred and is able to exert an effect at a distance without the need for any physical connection between source and receiver. In this broad sense, radiation includes energy transfer both by electromagnetic waves (as in the case of gamma rays, ultra-violet rays or radio waves) and by energetic particles (such as alpha or beta particles emitted from nuclei in the process of radioactive decay). The more precise terms "electromagnetic radiation" and "particulate radiation" differentiate between these two phenomena. 2, record 83, English, - corpuscular%20radiation

Record number: 83, Textual support number: 1 OBS

2, record 85, French, - relaxation%20spin%2Dspin

The word radiation is commonly used in several distinct although related senses. First, it is a term for the process by which energy is transferred and is able to exert an effect at a distance without the need for any physical connection between source and receiver. 4, record 92, English, - electromagnetic%20radiation

1, record 100, French, - structure%20de%20d%C3%A9battement%20quantique
