Starting with the basics, red wine is an alcoholic beverage made by fermenting the juice of dark-skinned grapes. Red wine differs from white wine in its base material and production process. ... During red wine production, the winemaker allows pressed grape juice, called must, to macerate and ferment with the dark grape skins, which adds color, flavor and tannin to the wine. 2, record 1, English, - red%20wine

2, record 1, French, - vin%20rouge

Skin-fermented or skin-contact white wines are white wines that have had extended contact with grape skins. This is unique, because typically, white wines do not spend time on their skins during fermentation. When white wine grapes are pressed, only the juice is fermented. Whereas, when red wines and rosés are fermented and pressed, they spend time on the skins (much less time for rosés than for reds). This extended skin contact is what gives wines their color and tannin. [They are] often known as "orange wines" due to their color ... 8, record 2, English, - orange%20wine

1, record 13, French, - vinification%20en%20blanc

Northern Spy, Yellow Transparent, Delicious, and other upright growing varieties are sometimes difficult to train because almost every main limb tends to grow upright. A special practice sometimes used is to train these branches into outward-growing laterals by bending or tying them down. This is done by driving a staple into the trunk near the ground and tying a piece of heavy cord or binder twine (not wire) from the staple to the end of the limb, using a loose loop on the branch. 4, record 14, English, - tying%20down

3, record 35, French, - papillome%20schneid%C3%A9rien

In the aristocratic world of wine grapes, the South's Muscadine long has been the plebeian cousin to such noble European vitis as Chardonnays and Pinots Noir. But in a preliminary study released in August, a Campbell university biologist found that the native Muscadine has the highest concentration of a molecule suspected of being a key cholesterol-cutting ingredient in wine. "...Those happy people could have the last laugh if Ohashi and his colleagues prove their thesis which builds on a growing compilation of scientific evidence that moderate wine consumption is good for the heart. While scientists aren't sure what it is about red wine that makes it so helpful to the heart, the suspect it has to do with an antioxidant called resveratrol. 1, record 43, English, - resveratrol

Originally the common book trade designation of sizes was based on the size of a sheet of paper. When folded once to make two leaves (four pages), it was a folio; when folded twice to make four leaves (eight pages), it was a quarto; when folded to eight leaves (sixteen pages), an octavo; when folded to sixteen leaves (thirty-two pages), a sixteenmo, etc. However, today book sizes almost invariably refer to a measurement, in centimeters, of the height of the binding, not the size of the leaf. 2, record 98, English, - book%20size
