Dans le cadre de l'étude sur la radargrammétrie, l'Unité de traitement d’images s’intéresse à l'extraction de structures sur les images radar aériennes en haute résolution. Sur ces images, les structures apparaissent en général sous forme de deux échos forts successifs, en forme de demi-cercle pour les cuves et de «L» pour les bâtiments. Les toits sont peu texturés et les ombres difficiles à délimiter. Partant d’études antérieures sur les réflexions multiples entre sol et structure l'analyse stéréoscopique de ces échos forts nous permet de donner une interprétation simplifiée : le premier écho correspond au bord du toit et le second écho, plus brillant, correspond au dièdre formé entre le sol et la structure. L'écho du toit est parfois trop faible pour être détectable alors que celui du dièdre semble toujours visible. Par conséquent, ce second écho est un indicateur fiable sur la présence d’une structure [...]
