Además, los cospeles o discos de moneda sin acuñar tienen que ser completamente lisos.

En el proceso de acuñación de la moneda proof se dan tres golpes a cada moneda, y el índice de rechazo por falta de calidad es muy alto debido a que se revisan al 100% y cualquier pequeño defecto hace que la moneda sea rechazada.
