The elements of strategic or attached storages, arranged to suit specific purposes, are the same as those of inland terminals. They do not usually have cleaning or drying facilities but to keep the grain in good condition for extended periods, the large tanks are often equipped with aeration facilities. 1, record 1, English, - attached%20storages

1, record 1, French, - silos%20annexes

As new and larger elevators were built, companies often moved old elevators beside one another and used them as annexes to a new elevator. In these facilities, grain is elevated to the top of the operating elevator, moved by screw auger to the distributor spout of the annexed elevator and then allowed to flow by gravity to the desired storage bin. It is emptied by screw auger which moves the grain from the annex elevator into the back hopper of the operating elevator. 1, record 2, English, - elevator%20annex

1, record 2, French, - silo%20annexe
