AC medium is a good primary isolation medium possessing unique growth promoting properties for both aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms. It is recommended as a general culture medium for anaerobes, microaerophiles and aerobes. The medium contains an agar flux that retards air diffusion and when sealed in snap-cap tubes immediately after autoclaving, it maintains an oxygen gradient ranging from anaerobic at the bottom to aerobic at the top. Techniques: ... Within 24 hours after inoculation, anaerobic organisms will be growing near the bottom, microaerophiles near the center, and aerobic organisms near the top Facultative organisms will grow throughout the tube. The composition is the following: beef extract (3 g), yeast extract (3 g), malt extract (3 g), proteose peptone No. 3 (Difco) (20 g). dextrose (5 g), agar (1 g), ascorbic acid (0.2 g), distilled water (1 liter) ... 4, record 1, English, - all%2Dculture%20medium

Use of immobilized enzymes in an expanded or fluidized bed has certain advantages over use of immobilized enzymes in a fixed bed. The most important advantages of such operations are that plugging is totally avoided and that it is possible to use substrates containing particulate materials. In spite of these advantages, almost all industrially enzyme-catalyzed continuous processes in which immobilized enzymes are used are performed in fixed bed, among other reasons because in an expanded or fluidized bed the particles having enzymatic activity are worn down during operation as a result of collisions between the individual particles. 1, record 4, English, - fixed%20bed

De temps en temps, il faut effectuer un repiquage sur un milieu neuf car l'ancien milieu s’épuise et se charge de déchets. The use of growing cells in suspension as biocatalysts is generally termed fermentation. Such processes may be distinguished as batch, fed batch or continuous depending on the kinetic relationship between addition of substrate and harvesting of product. Non-growing systems include the use of suspensions, cells retained within a semipermeable membrane, or cells immobilized in or on a solid support. Such immobilized cells may be used in a fixed bed, expanded bed, fluid bed or fully mixed system. ... Although many so-called fermentation reactions are carried out under aerobic conditions, these are of little interest in the present context since, when oxygen is used as the terminal electron acceptor, the production of low molecular weight metabolites of the type required is restricted and a high proportion of the carbon in the feedstock is converted into cell biomass. 1, record 9, English, - cell%20biomass

1, record 11, French, - phosphore%20fix%C3%A9
