1, record 5, French, - %C3%A9quilibre%20de%20Hardy%2DWeinberg

Analysis of Molecular Variance (AMOVA) is a method for studying molecular variation within a species. Electrophoresis, one of the most widely used methods for studying the structure of DNA, produces data of the form of 0s and 1s where 1 denotes the presence of a band and zero its absence, e.g. Sample Band A 0101... B 1000... C 0110... AMOVA works on such data to create a distance matrix between samples in order to measure the genetic structure of a population. In statistical terms, AMOVA is a testing procedure based on permutational analysis and involves few assumptions. 3, record 9, English, - analysis%20of%20molecular%20variance

... the urban world into which Mary progressively enters is typical of modern African town-life. It displays the familiar interplay between formal and informal sector markets for labour and commodities, a high degree of ethnic and linguistic pluralism, and a relative dominance of formal organizations. The last foster a general awareness of formal-sector career models, which the young urbanites especially seek to emulate. Kinship appears to offer an urban reception structure for recent migrants that patterns urban-rural relations; however, ready alternatives to kinship are offered by urban churches and by the urban workplace, each providing a non-kinship, urban reception structure and reference group which may, however, superficially be cast in the idiom of fictive kinship. Commonly men and women do not follow the same trajectories in urbanization. The town, while largely destructive or rural-based social placement, is the site of a proliferation of new forms of social placement in class terms, depending on capital formation and on socio-economic distinction. 2, record 13, English, - reception%20structure

In the mid-1970s, recombinant DNA methods [led the way for] the isolation of ... genes [but it] faced several obstacles. One was the need for development of disabled hosts and vectors that would have no significant probability of surviving outside the laboratory, and that would satisfy the criteria of biological containment established in the 1976 National Institutes of Health guidelines. Another, more fundamental obstacle was the need for methods that would allow the identification of bacteria that carried the cloned genes in which we were interested. 1, record 25, English, - isolation%20of%20a%20gene

1, record 25, French, - isolement%20d%27un%20g%C3%A8ne
