Increasingly, organized crime syndicates have been turning to the "rip-on/rip-off" concealment method which involves the exploitation of shipping containers to traffic illicit drugs around the world. As cargo moves from the country of origin to the country of destination, insiders at each port (such as corrupt port workers) tamper with legal shipments. The key to their success depends on access to the location of a specific container, insider knowledge of the port environment and the ability to coordinate insider threats at both ends of the transport supply chain. 1, record 3, English, - rip%2Don%2Frip%2Doff%20concealment%20method

An MED is a numerical standard against which most opioids can be compared, yielding an apples-to-apples comparison of each medication's potency. Real prices are those that have been adjusted to remove the effect of changes in the purchasing power of the dollar; they usually reflect buying power relative to a reference year. Prior to 1996, real prices were expressed in constant dollars, a measure based on the weights of goods and services in a single year, usually a recent year. In 1996, the U.S. [United States] Department of Commerce introduced the chained-dollar measure. The new measure is based on the average weights of goods and services in successive pairs of years. It is "chained" because the second year in each pair, with its weights, becomes the first year of the next pair. The advantage of using the chained-dollar measure is that it is more closely related to any given period covered and is subject to less distortion over time. 3, record 39, English, - chained%20dollar

1, record 40, French, - Bantoustan

Most trials consider only one experimental intervention, comparing it with one or more options or a placebo. In a trial using a 2 x 2 factorial design, participants are allocated to one of four possible combinations. For example, in a randomised controlled trial of a nicotine replacement therapy and counselling, participants would be allocated to: nicotine replacement therapy alone, counselling alone, both, or neither. In this way it is possible to test the independent effect of each intervention on smoking cessation and the combined effect of (interaction between) the two interventions. 1, record 52, English, - factorial%20design

2, record 57, French, - fuller%C3%A8ne%20endo%C3%A9drique

Paleoclimate studies using AMS [Accelerator Mass Spectrometry] radiocarbon ... During the past several years, AMS measurements have increasingly supplanted the traditional counting method of dating since they offer greatly increased sensitivity (sub-milligram samples can be dated) and, in many instances, greater accuracy; they are also very much faster. However, the typical "bulk carbon" sample preparation techniques used for both AMS and ... counting leave unanswered the question of just what is being dated, a grave disadvantage in palynological and other paleoclimate studies. In contrast, the extraction procedures that have been developed here typically produce purified pollen samples which can be clearly identified under the microscope; thus, an unambiguous proxy climate indicator -pollen- is dated, and nothing else. 2, record 77, English, - proxy%20climate%20indicator

8, record 83, French, - carburant%20de%20remplacement

Oxyfuel combustion. An alternative is to burn the fossil fuel in pure or enriched oxygen. In such a fashion the flue gas will contain mostly CO2 and H2O. A part of the flue gas needs to be recycled into the combustion chamber in order to control the flame temperature. From the non-recycled flue gas, water vapor can be readily condensed, and the CO2 can be compressed and piped directly to the storage site. 3, record 84, English, - oxyfuel%20combustion
