Accident de Lilo : une étude allemande revient sur le cas de deux militaires géorgiens. Ces deux patients font partie d’un groupe de soldats ayant reçu en 1997 une irradiation accidentelle liée à des sources abandonnées. Celle-ci avait engendré chez ces sujets des lésions cutanées radio-induites accompagnées de signes systémiques(arrêt de la spermatogenèse, modification des taux plasmatiques d’hormones androgènes). Se plaignant de troubles persistants(fatigue, cicatrisation incomplète), malgré le traitement suivi en 1997, ils ont fait l'objet d’une nouvelle prise en charge. Six ans après l'irradiation, des anomalies génétiques(translocations et chromosomes dicentriques au niveau des lymphocytes) et immunologiques(expression accrue de protéines d’adhésion, augmentation du rapport LT CD4/LT CD8) persistent bien que les niveaux d’hormones androgènes et la spermatogenèse soient rétablis.
