Lors d’un récent séjour en Espagne, j’ai pu constater la destruction massive qu'a causée l'application des trains de mesures d’austérité inhumaines imposées à ce pays par l'Allemagne et Wall Street. Les Espagnols souffrent à l'extrême :taux de chômage de 26%, de 56% chez les 18 à 30 ans; malnutrition; éclatement de familles; hausse du suicide […] Les Espagnols ont inventé une nouvelle expression pour décrire ce fléau voulu-austéricide. La Fundación del Español Urgente (Fundéu BBVA), con el asesoramiento de la Real Academia Española, indica que "austericidio" aparece cada vez con mayor frecuencia en las noticias económicas para aludir, con connotaciones negativas, a los efectos de las medidas de austeridad [...] La palabra está bien formada, pero no es adecuado emplearla con el sentido de ‘matar por exceso de austeridad’.
