... macular buckling surgery ... involves positioning a scleral sponge at the posterior aspect of the globe behind the macula along the [six] o'clock to [twelve] o'clock meridian. An intraoperative B-scan is required for exact placement of the macular buckle. Though this procedure is highly successful, its complexity has prevented it from gaining much popularity. 3, record 1, English, - macular%20buckling%20surgery

Significant temperature gradients are present across the fuel particles when a nuclear reactor is producing power. If local temperatures are sufficiently high, nuclear fuel kernels can migrate up the thermal gradient. During this process, the barrier retaining fission product is progressively damaged, and the damage can lead to complete failure of the coating system. This phenomenon is called the Amoeba effect. 1, record 3, English, - Amoeba%20effect

1, record 3, French, - effet%20amibe

The rate of leaching of buried waste depends on a number of factors, including the quantity and quality of percolating water that contacts the waste, the physical condition of the waste container, oxidation conditions present in the disposal facility, the presence of chelating or other potentially mobilizing agents, and the chemical and physical properties of the waste. 1, record 4, English, - rate%20of%20leaching

4, record 4, French, - vitesse%20de%20lixiviation
