Il existe enfin un modèle de tournevis va-et-vient. À la suite de la poignée se trouve un tube dans lequel entre une tige portant des entailles hélicoïdales. Lorsque la lame est engagée dans la tête d’une vis et que l'on pousse la poignée, le tube, grâce à l'engrenage hélicoïdal, provoque la rotation de la lame.
