TRANSISTOR ALLIAGE [2 records]

Record 1 2019-11-18

English

Subject field(s)
  • Semiconductors (Electronics)
CONT

A fundamental difference between the alloy junction transistor and the grown junction device was that of the method of construction, the alloy junctions being of the abrupt or "step" type, whilst the grown junction devices being of the "graded" type.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Semi-conducteurs (Électronique)
CONT

Record 2 2009-02-20

English

Subject field(s)
  • Semiconductors (Electronics)
DEF

A junction produced by alloying one or more impurity metals to a semiconductor.

OBS

A small button of impurity metal is placed at each desired location on the semiconductor wafer, heated above the melting point, and cooled. The impurity metal alloys with the semiconductor material to form a p or n region, depending on the impurity used.

OBS

alloyed junction: term standardized by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

PHR

Alloy-junction transistor.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Semi-conducteurs (Électronique)
DEF

PHR

Transistor à jonction par alliage.
