Un monument érigé à 1330 mètres d’altitude, au sommet du col Rogers, marque la place de l'inauguration de «la route Transcanadienne», le 3 septembre 1962, par le premier ministre John Diefenbaker en présence du ministre des Travaux publics, Davie Fulton, et des ministres responsables dans chacune des provinces. Au début, le gouvernement fédéral défrayait 10 % des travaux, puis a augmenté sa contribution de 40 %. C'est le fédéral qui a payé le tronçon de la route traversant les parcs nationaux du Canada Jasper, Banff, Yoho, des Glaciers et du Mont-Revelstoke. Le monument est constitué de deux arcs de bois s’entrecroisant, entourés d’un muret de pierres. Le grand arc représente la Confédération; le petit, le réseau routier transcanadien. Les trois murets symbolisent les trois océans qui bordent le Canada, l'Atlantique, le Pacifique et l'Arctique.
