TYPES STRUCTURE SOL [2 records]

Record 1 1988-06-15

English

Subject field(s)
  • Soil Science
DEF

A type of soil structure in which the peds are spheroids or polyhedrons that have little or no accommodation to surrounding peds, are porous, and range in size from less than 1.0 mm to 5 mm.

OBS

American Soil Classification.

OBS

Medium granular structure is the equivalent in the Canadian System of Soil Classification, although the permeability factor is not taken into consideration.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Science du sol
OBS

Record 2 1980-06-13

English

Subject field(s)
  • Soil Science
OBS

A classification of soil structure based on the shape of the aggregates or peds and their arrangement in the [soil] profile. Terms used for describing soil structure types are: structureless - no observable aggregation or no definite orderly arrangement around natural lines of weakness. blocklike - soil particles arranged around a point and bounded by flat or rounded surfaces. platelike - soil particles arranged around a horizontal plane and generally bounded by relatively flat horizontal surfaces. prismlike - soil particles arranged around a vertical axis and bounded by relatively flat vertical surfaces.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Science du sol
OBS
