A New generation ground guidance and docking system for large commercial aeroplanes has been installed at Charles De Gaulle International Airport at Roissy [It is called] UCRAFT. UCRAFT guides and stops aircraft in line with contact of nose-in fixed passenger boarding gangway. It is a system based on robotics, mechanics and hydraulics. Like an arm with a finger, it can guide and stop any present or future type of aircraft, whether it is on the same axis or on a different axis, making the centre line of aeroplane doors coincide exactly with the centre line of the fixed gangways.

L'UCRAFT assure le guidage et l'accostage des avions au droit des passerelles fixes d’embarquement des passagers du type «au contact» ou du type «nez en avant». C'est un système qui est basé sur la robotique, la mécanique et l'hydraulique. Tel un bras muni d’un doigt, il peut guider et arrêter tous les modèles d’avions actuels ou futurs, que ce soit sur un même axe ou sur un axe différent, il fait coïncider parfaitement les axes des portes avions avec l'axe des passerelles fixes.
