Deux médicaments sont compris dans la combinaison uméclidinium-vilantérol. On les utilise ensemble pour réduire les symptômes de la maladie pulmonaire obstructive chronique(MPOC), notamment de la bronchite chronique et de l'emphysème. L'uméclidinium est un antagoniste muscarinique à longue durée d’action(AMLA). Le vilantérol est un agoniste bêta-2 à longue durée d’action(ABLA). Ces médicaments agissent de façons différentes pour ouvrir les voies aériennes des poumons, ce qui facilite la respiration.
