In opposition to Chomsky, who (as I noted) pays little attention to how his derivations might be realized by an individual speaker operating under "real-world" constraints, Bresnan and her colleagues have fashioned a perspective designed to illuminate how an individual will perceive or produce language. In her lexical-functional theory, there is no transformational component. The information traditionally embedded in the syntactic components is now placed in the individual's lexicon - one's knowledge of specific words. Lexical-functional grammar provides each sentence with two structures: a constituent structure, which is similar to a surface structure (or phrase-marker tree) in the standard theory of Chomsky; and a functional structure, which includes all the grammatical relations relevant to the semantic interpretation of the sentence. The functional structure is generated by annotated phrase-structure rules working in conjunction with lexical entries for the various morphemes in a sentence. 1, record 1, English, - lexical%2Dfunctional%20theory

Sin embargo, algunas veces se emplean como sinónimos fusión, adquisición, amalgamación y absorción. Cuando dos empresas que están en el mismo negocio, es decir, son competidoras, se fusionan, esto se conoce como integración horizontal o lateral. Supersymmetry simply stated (say it ten times fast) says that each kind of particle that constitutes matter has a related force-carrying particle (Mukerjee, 90). Under the theory, fermion sand bosons are really just manifestations of one type of truly fundamental supersymmetrical particle that, at low energies, manifests itself in the apparently dissimilar fermions and bosons. The only problem with supersymmetry thus far is that there has yet to be any experimental evidence of a supersymmetrical particle. 2, record 36, English, - supersymmetrical%20particle

The Queen's Medal for Champion Shot was originally created under the British Honours System. In June 1968, after the unification of the Canadian Forces, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II gave her approval for the granting in Canada of the British Queen's Medal for Champion Shot. However, it wasn't until 1991 that the Privy Council for Canada advised that there be created and instituted in Canada the Queen's Medal for Champion Shot. Two medals are awarded annually to the member of the Canadian Forces (Regular) and to the member of the Canadian Forces (Reserve) or the Royal Canadian Mounted Police who obtain the highest aggregate score in stages one and two of the Queen's Medal Competition. 1, record 43, English, - Queen%27s%20Medal%20for%20Champion%20Shot

1, record 51, French, - Communaut%C3%A9%20europ%C3%A9enne%20de%20d%C3%A9fense

Multimedia, the integration of text, sound, images, video under the control of the computer, is one of the more recent revolutions brought about by the computer. Once only capable of calculating numbers and responding in text output, powerful hardware can now control the elements of our analog world. Images, sounds and video convey the message in digital format. The result: a type of metamorphosis where all the media becomes according to Negroponte a form of unimedia. 2, record 67, English, - unimedium
