The Africa Renewable Energy Initiative (AREI) is a transformative, Africa-owned and Africa-led inclusive effort to accelerate and scale up the harnessing of the continent's huge renewable energy potential. L'initiative de l'Afrique sur les énergies renouvelables(AREI) est un effort significatif dirigé et pris en main par l'Afrique pour accélérer et augmenter la domestication de l'énorme potentiel des énergies renouvelables du continent. African, Caribbean and Pacific Island states that have established agreements with the European Community on economic and trade cooperation. Former colonies Common market members that therefore receive preferential treatment. After becoming independent, the new states decided to continue their association with the EEC.
